Empowering Waste Workers
Waste workers are at the heart of our waste management systems, yet many face daily challenges ranging from financial insecurity to social exclusion. Through our Social and Financial Inclusion initiatives, we work to ensure they have access to the opportunities, support, and recognition they deserve.
We strengthen the livelihoods, health, and financial resilience of waste workers by improving access to government welfare schemes, social security benefits, occupational identification, safer working conditions, and preventive healthcare. Through financial literacy initiatives, the formation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and support for alternative livelihood opportunities, we help workers build greater economic security while promoting their integration into formal waste management systems.
